Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? (and Polar Bear, Panda Bear, etc) by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle - I recommend this type of book to help young children identify animals and colors; the repetitive structure of the book makes it a great read aloud book. Buy the book here.

Pete The Cat Series by James Dean- Kids love these stories. They are funny and have songs that go with them for the students to learn. Buy the book here.

Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees This book is about finding the courage to do something we think we cannot do. Buy the book here.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis. I have read almost everything C.S. Lewis has written. I love this book because it involves children discovering an enchanted world that you enter by going through a wardrobe And there are talking animals and who doesn't love talking animals.
